New Rec Centre Board Elected
In June, elections were held for all positions on the Rec Board and the following people were elected.
- Darlene Dallman - President
- Mike Forbes -Vice President
- Bev Wait - Secretary
- Dorothy Forbes - Treasurer
- Myles Taylor - Building Manager
- April Propp - Restaurant Manager & Ice Convener
- Garth Dallman - Lounge Manager
- Tom Dykstra - Municipal Rep
The Rec Board is still in search of volunteers to assists in various areas of the Rec Centre's operation. If you would like to help, please contact Darlene Dallman at sirl@mts.net.
Thievins Stepping Down
Joe & Nadine Thievin have decided to step down from the Balmoral Rec Centre Board. Curl Balmoral would like to thank Joe & Nadine for the countless hours they have given to help the curling club, the Rec Centre and the Balmoral community.
Roof Repairs
Curl Balmoral has been attending the meetings of the new Rec Board and have voiced our urgent need of roof repairs. The members of the Rec Board have recognized the issue and have made it a priority in their agenda. Darlene Dallman (President) & Myles Taylor (Building Manager) and contacted multiple contractors and are in the process of getting solutions for the problem and the corresponding quotes. Once the quotes are in a plan will be created in regards to timeframe of the repair and financing the costs. Even though we are getting close to the beginning of the curling season, the repair (or partial repair) is still a possibility. Updates will be given as they happen.
